History:

Kirov was a Soviet cruiser laid down in 1935 and completed in 1938 as the lead ship in her class. At 7,800t and shipping 9 - 7.1" guns (3x3), she was more heavily armed than comtemporary European 6" light cruisers, but sacraficed armor (2" belt) for speed (35knots) and armament.

Kirov could be an impact player in War at Sea. At just 10pts she has decent Main Gun armament, torpedoes, and the new Mines Special ability. Some debate has arisen over her Armor Value of 4, when similarly armored cruisers have an armor rating of 3.

Kirov is probably the best deal in W@S, a descent cruiser that's cheaper than some air units.
