Vergilius Powergaming Evaluation:
A basic destroyer, and at this point in the game’s development, short of having extremely inventive new SAs or some extreme power-game combination, we wouldn’t expect any destroyer to be all that impressive. The new SA is Battleship Escort, and is one of the new SAs that amount to a Close Escort downgrade. Basically it works like close escort but under more specific restricted settings. In this case, the Le Hardi can escort a battleship to trigger a 3 zone sector, but doesn’t otherwise get the benefits of close escort. That’s good from a fleet design perspective. The battleship’s strong AA can help you keep destroyers alive as you move toward the objectives. The destroyers unreliable 5 AA can also help abort a bomber periodically that is going after your BB. All in all, this is a good solid destroyer, but it is still a destroyer. Overall Grade: C
