There is one arena in which the Hurricane excels, economics. For 5 points, she is the cheapest escort the allies can buy, and should be used for that ability. If you're planning on having an air heavy build and need to save an extra two or three points, take Hurricanes instead of Martlets or Wildcats. That being said, when building a fleet (especially a RN fleet), if you have the extra point or two to burn, definitely bypass the Hurricane for the Martlet, which is one of the best bargains in the game.

With the release of Set V, the Hurricane's role as a cheap escort has been somewhat eclipsed by the P 40e Warhawk. If you're not using a carrier, for the same cost you can get an escort with better AA, better armor, and the extra ability of interceptor. If you're using a carrier, or playing a pure RN/commonwealth build, the Hurricane is still your best cheap escort option.
