For a unit that could have been as good as this unit had the chance to be, Taskent is very disappointing. Her main stats are correct, but her SAs fair to please. This ship was a shoe in for Determination, Desperate AA, Uniquely Tough, or Evade Bombs. Instead we got this unit with Landing 3, which while not being terrible, is terrible uninspiring. This unit is not much of a step up over your Gromkiys. And a two points more than a Gromkiy, you do not get much of an improvement in abilities. Sadly, this is another unit that will be forever marred by her cost and poor SAs. D-
Plastic Figure Notes:
The Italian light cruiser Scipione Africane can serve as a proxy miniature for the large destroyer Tashkent. Tashkent was only about 2 meters shorter and 1 meter thinner. She was also designed by the Italians for the Soviets. So the Italian ship Scipione Africane is quite a nice proxy for Tashkent at the 1:1800 scale of War at Sea.
Forumini member Tych painted up a Scipione Africane as the "Blue Cruiser" Tashkent:
