Aircraft
Aircraft are placed during the flight phase and attack during the airstrike phase. Units attacking Aircraft use their anti-Soldier attacks and get –1 on each attack die.

Antiair
This unit ignores the -1 penalty on each attack die when attacking Aircraft. If an enemy Aircraft is placed in a hex adjacent to this unit, this unit may make a defensive-fire attack against it.

Rockets 8
Once per game, instead of rolling this unit’s attack against an enemy Soldier or Vehicle within four hexes, you can declare you are using rockets. If you do, roll eight attack dice against that unit.

Historical Background:

The Hawker Typhoon Mk. 1b is a single-seat monoplane fighter/light bomber. The Typhoon Mk. 1b is essentially a 1a with upgraded armament, switching from twelve 7.7mm machine guns to four 20mm Hispano Mk I cannons, and the ability to carry eight RP-3 rockets.
In October 1942, the first combat deployment of the aircraft took place when the planes were used to patrol over the English Channel. From November 1942 on, Typhoons were used as fighter bombers to hit ground targets on the Continent. During 1943, air squadrons equipped with Typhoons were passed through maintenance bases one by one to receive bomb racks and rocket guide rails. In the skies over Western Europe, the Royal Air Force was switching from a defensive strategy to offensive operations. The Typhoon, with its powerful armament, was designed to replace Hurricane fighters in operations against the German transport infrastructure.

Reviews:

Akela152
Canada's only aircraft option is like most that country's units: strong. It can stand it's ground against any plane that the axis can trow at it and is one of the best allied fighter. However, it is a tad expensive and like all aircraft, can be taken out quite easily by AA units. Rockets 8 is a good ability and for that alone, the unit can pay for itself most of the time.

Plastic Figure Notes:

This is an Axis and Allies Air Force Miniature model. They are not the same scale as the planes in AAM but are the same scale as the tanks. The models are all very detailed and well painted.
